Field Lesson to Broad Mudeum, L.A. Times, and DTLA Art Scavenger Hunt

This was one amazing day for our 8th-grade students and myself. It was a non-stop Downtown L.A. cultural experience. First, we started by going to the observation deck at City Hall. The view was amazing, one of my students faced his fear of heights by walking out to the observation deck.
Next stop was the L.A. Times, were we recieved an amazing tour about the history of the newspaper, the importance of journalism and the power of incredible photography taken by photojournalist in important moments in history.

After lunch, we went to the Broad museum students loved Jeff Koons sculptures. Many of them choose to write an artist reflection assignment on his giant balloon dog.

To end the field lesson I created a 1-hour photo scavenger hunt of important architecture and public works of art were students had to read the clues to figure out what they were looking for.
